SOM’s design for a mixed-use tower in Ekaterinburg proposes a subtly rotated form that offers varied views for occupants, whilst providing a landmark to reinforce the city’s status as the third largest in Russia. The tower, designed for a riverside location in the city center, is linked to a low-rise retail building by a climate-controlled, all-glass winter garden. Both structures adhere to carbon neutral design principles.
